The Mere Bash - 7th, 8th and 9th of September

This end of season Bash has been going for decades, and we would like to invite all and sundry to celebrate the end of the season in a weekend of partying, dancing to a live band, and generally having fun!

Everyone camps (you can arrive on Friday evening or any time on Saturday), and the main fun takes place on Saturday evening. We have a marquee with ridiculously cheap beer, live music and dancing, and we fire up a huge barbeque.

We have two GREAT bands performing on Saturday night a stripped down version of
Leatherat (http://www.leatherat.com)
and the fantastic
Alsoeden (http://www.alsoeden.com).

There's a bouncy castle for the children, and we also have a bonfire on Saturday evening. Bring your own toys too - toy gliders, kites, bikes etc.

It all takes place in the bottom landing at Mere Rifle range in Wiltshire, a location steeped in the history of hang gliding and paragliding. It's at 51° 6'0.91"N, 2°16'14.74"W (you can paste that into the search box in Google Earth or Google Maps). To get there, get yourself to Mere, and then turn into Manor Road between the Lloyds Bank and the Nisa shop, and follow the Mere Bash signs.

Everyone from your club is welcome. Tickets will be £10 in advance and £15 on the door, and that includes the camping. Souvenir T shirts will also be on sale. Please bring your own food for the barbeque, and please bring all the water you'll need as there isn't a supply nearby.

We have an informal competition which allows anyone who attends the Bash to win a nice prize beer mug. (The Mere Bash Prize). Fly XC as far as you can from the immediate sites, or other Avon sites, and you are in the running. (If none are suitable other sites may be acceptable.)

For tickets, please contact Graham Richards, and arrange a BACs transfer, including your name and club. The Club account is Sort Code 400919
Account # 71362372 Tell people to email me that they have made the transfer at treasurer@avonhgpg.co.uk

The more the merrier! See you there.
