APCO FIESTA 2: DEEP STALL
Two examples of the Apco Fiesta 2 have been involved in accidents where they have entered a deep stall
during a winch tow launch.
Investigations are continuing into the flight characteristics of these particular gliders.
In the meantime pilots are advised to take extreme care if tow launching the Apco Fiesta 2. Standard tow
launching procedure must be followed: do not apply any brake (other than the minimum left or right brake as
needed from time to time to keep the wing aligned with the tow line).
